This winter has been hard because it’s been so wet here, and dreich – ie grey overcast damp and never really getting properly daylight. I preferred the much colder ice-bound snowy winters of my childhood in Scotland! But still, I love living in a country that does have seasons. I would find it very difficult to live somewhere that was summer all the time. I like that we can react to the different seasons in different ways – they seem to me to ‘keep us on our toes’ :-)

    1. Indeed – and how dull would it be to live in a world where there’s no cause to use wonderful words such as “dreich”!
